Michael Kurlander is the U.S. Treasurer at Citadel, a multi-strategy Hedge Fund, and Securities firm. Michael is responsible for all aspects of financing a multi-hundred billion dollar securities portfolio and the investment of over $15bn of liquidity reserves across all Citadel entities. In this role, Michael also is responsible for the strategy and execution of new financing products, the rating agency, and bank relationships, collateral management, as well as capital planning.

Michael has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services industry. He began his career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen as a CPA in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2000 he joined Goldman Sachs as an analyst in the Accounting division and was named Managing Director in 2008. During his ~18 years at GS, he held a variety of positions including Head of Funding and Liquidity Management in Corporate Treasury, CFO, and COO of Global Operations, and was the COO of GS Bank USA before joining Citadel in late 2017. Michael played a primary role in helping the firm manage through the 2008 financial crisis and has served on numerous industry committees and conference panels.

Michael holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Columbia University. He resides with his wife Danielle and sons Dylan and Blake in New Jersey. He is an avid golfer and sports fan.
